This was taken earlier in the year from a dear friend's property....a friend who was moving away very soon...not long after her husband's passing. It was such an incredibly beautiful day...and the smoke from a neighbor's fire was wafting across the pond into the very beginning of a sweet and golden sunset. Though sad about my friend's imminent departure, and the difficult passing of her husband who was also a dear friend, there was a great sense of tranquility and peace in the moments I spent gazing across the water....remembering and grateful for the many wonderful shared times of friendship.

Thank you so much dear Ana! I don't know what happened as I remember replying to your lovely comment, but now it's not here...so am repeating my heartfelt "thank you" for your always wonderful insights and perceptions. And you are welcome to the firewood...if you split it...guffaw!!!

Another winner, Rory! Glad you shared your story and beautiful image. Tranquil scenes like this one help us to move on... all in good time. (Terrific quote, too, and one I've never heard before -- thanks!)
